Managed to find the online version of the comic "300" and it was pretty good. I'm still interested to watch the movie but sadly either I have no time or no buddies to watch with. Oh well. See how la. Powered by ScribeFire.
I wanted to blog about drumming for God and how certain issues can make things complicated.
But now that I think about it, it really IS too complicated. So complicated I don't know where to start and how to end. I'll try anyway.
When one is serving God through your music and pride creeps in, it can get very messy. That's probably why I stopped 2 years ago and entered the world of (symphonic) band. Also, it can become tiring. There's a loss of motivation to play after some time. Then I'll start wondering why I'm really playing in the church band. For God? To fulfill this duty? Or to become a better musician through increased exposure and practice?
Nevertheless, I'm prepared to try again. Playing for God should be a form of offering, of worship to Him, and our focus should be on Him alone, and not our selfish thoughts of pride. It will be hard. But I believe He will help me focus my attention onto Him instead of on the music. Help me, God.

Honestly. My time is over. I'm no longer an NYP student. My admin card has God-knows-when been inactivated and is INVALID, such that I couldn't even enter the block without using my brother's card for entry. As such. Shouldn't you understand that I'm freed from school activities, which by the way, includes BAND? As soon as I had received my crappy but acceptable-for-graduation results, I had a choice. Whether or not I decide to show up or turn up late or stay home and sleep in or spend my precious time on something, it was UP TO ME.
So to my dear percussions (and bandmates), it's not like I have developed skills that the band cannot do without, but on the contrary, I still suck like hell and I'm sure you guys can cope with just one member gone, just as how they (we) did when past members had left. That said, I hope you, my dear percussionists, will remain faithful, to yourselves and to the band. I won't be around to call and text you guys to go for pracs anymore, so please, do yourselves the favour and encourage each other. Set a good example for new batch of year ones so that they too will attend practices regularly. Strive to become better and better, and do our seniors Teo Hui and Iskandar proud.
As for me, I'm not abandoning you. As and when, I'll be around. But when I do decide not to appear, GET USED TO IT. Step up, and dare to play. Get shot by Laoshi, and learn from it. No matter how many times he shoots you, play. I did.
